ORDINANCE NO. 78-49 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Bennett <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE <br />OF A TRUCK ON A NONCOMPETITIVE BASIS. <br />WHEREAS, the Village is in dire need of an additional <br />truck for the plowing of streets for the coming Winter; and <br />WHEREAS, advertisement for bids, as normally required by <br />law, would delay the purchase of a truek for a prohibitive period <br />of time; and <br />WHEREAS, the current delivery period for a truck is in ex- <br />cess of four months; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administrative Assistant to the Mayor, Gus <br />Amendola, has been able to negotiate for a truck with the required <br />specifications at a favorable price; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Sect3on 1. The purchase of a new truck is declared to be <br />noncompetitive. <br />Section 2. The attached proposal by Lake Truck in the <br />amount,of $27,880 is declared to be the best available by negotiation. <br />The Mayor and Finance Director are authorized to execute a purchase <br />order for the truck detailed in said proposal. <br />Section 3. This is an emergency ordinance immediately <br />necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the community in <br />that it will enable the Village to receive the truck in time to aid <br />in snow removal for the coming Winter.
