ORDINANCE N0. 78-55 <br />Page -2- <br />uniform does not include undergarments, socks or shoes. <br />Not more than once during any two (2) year period <br />the Chief of Police may, upon an adequate showing of <br />need for replacement caused by ordinary wear and tear, <br />authorize the expenditure of an additional sum not to <br />exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) to each member <br />of the Auxiliary Police Unit for the replacement of his <br />uniform, or any part thereof. The provisions contained in <br />the next preceding paragraph governing approval of purchases <br />by the Chief of Police shall also govern the provisions <br />herein. <br />Sec. 4.2 The following equipment shall be issued <br />by Mayfield Village to every member of the Auxiliary Police <br />Unit: <br />(a) One (1) Auxiliary Police cap <br />(b) Two (2) breast badges and one (1) cap wreath <br />(c) One (1) whistle and chain <br />(d) One (1) night stick or riot stick <br />(e) One (1) three-cell flashlight <br />Sec. 4.3 A record shall be kept by the liaison officer <br />of the Auxiliary Police Unit of all equipment issued to an <br />Auxiliary Policeman. This record shall contained the signature <br />of the Auxiliary Policeman to whom the equipment is issued. <br />Sec. 4.4 Any equipment lost or misplaced not in line <br />of duty by an Auxiliary Policeman shall be replaced at his <br />own expense within thi'rty (30) days after disclosure of loss. <br />Sec. 4.5 Any equipment purchased by the Auxiliary Police <br />Unit from monies derived by the Auxiliary Police Unit shall <br />immediately become property belonging to the Department of <br />Police of Mayfield Villagg , <br />Sec. 4.6 Any member resigning from the Auxiliary Police <br />Unit shall, at the time of his resiqnation, return all equip- <br />ment issued to him by the Department of Police or Auxiliary <br />Police Unit of Mayfield Village or purchased for him from <br />the General Fund. <br />Section 3. The existing Article II, Section 2.5 and <br />Article IV of the Constitution of the Auxiliary Police Unit are <br />hereby repealed. <br />Section 4. This is an emergency ordinance immediately <br />necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the community in <br />that it will aid and promote the use and efficiency of the
