ORDINANCE N0. 79- 83 INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole AN ORDINADI.CE GRANTIDIG CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ADDITIONAL CREDIT FOR LONGEVITY BENEFITS. WHEREAS, Allan L. Hejc2 and Karl Strasser have served considerable periods of time as part-time firefighters in Mayfield Village before becoming full-time members of the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that these firefighters should be given extra credit for longevity benefits in computing their additional compensation and vacations; now, therefore, ' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. For purposes of computing longevity benefits in connection with additional compensation and vacations under Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance 79-34 and Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance 78-29, both entitled "An Ordinance Prescribing Salaries; Rates of Compensation, Vacation Schedule, Paid Holidays and Other Benefits for Employees oP the Municipality", the £ollowing extra credits are hereby given to the following members of the Fire Department in recognition of their prior periods of service as part-time firefighters: Allan L. Hecjl - three (123 months, thereby for longevity purposes from Karl Strasser - thereby re-establishing his from May l, 1969 to October Extra credit of one hundred twenty re-establishing his starting date January 1, 1975 to October 1, 1964. Extra credit of thirty-one (31) months starting date for longevity purposes 1, 1966. Section 2. The additional credit for longevity benefits granted herein shall be applicable in all future Ordinances pertaining to salaries, rates of compensation, vacation schedule, paid holidays and other benefits for employees of Mayfield Village. Section 3• The credits and benefits set forth in Section 1 hereinabove shall be retroactive to January 1, 1979. Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the ORDINANCE N0.
