,1. <br />&^ ORDINANCE NO. 79-93 <br />Section 6. Holidays <br />Page -5- <br />(a) The following six (6) days shall be deemed to be <br />holidays on the dates on which they are observed under the laws of the <br />State of Ohio: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, <br />Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. A full-time employee <br />shall not be required to work on any of said holidays unless in <br />the opinion of his responsible administrative superior his failure to <br />work would impair the public service. <br />(b) Compensationfbr fioli.davs S4orked. If not required <br />to work on said holidays, a full-time employee shall be entitled <br />to receive pay at his regular rate of compensation on such holiday <br />on which he has not worked; provided, however, that if any employee <br />without just cause (as determined by the head of his clepartment) <br />fails to report to work on a regularly scheduled work day immediately <br />preceding or immediately following such holiday, he shall not be <br />entitled to compensation for the holiday not worked. If an <br />employee's work schedule is other than Monday throuqh Friday, he <br />shall be entitled to a day's regular pay for a holiday observed <br />on his day off, regardless of the day of the week on which it is <br />observed. <br />(c) Compensation for Holidays Worked. If a full-time <br />employee works on one of the above-designated holidays, he shall <br />receive two (2) times his regular rate of pay for that day and in <br />addition, shall be entitled to another day off with his regular <br />rate of pay, the day to be selected by his administrative superior. <br />Section 7. Hospitalization and Medical Covera e <br />(a) Effective June 26, 1976, Blue Cross and Blue Shield <br />of Northeast Ohio premiums for hospitalization and medical <br />coverage for employees insured under the present contract shall <br />be paid by the municipality. The premium to be paid shall be at <br />the rate established for the "High Level Benefit Plan". <br />' (b) Employees of the municipality not presently insured <br />under the existing "High Level Benefit Plan" and new employees of <br />the municipality may join the plan at such intervals as may be <br />authorized by Blue Cross.and IIlue Shield of Northeast Ohio, subject <br />to the approval of the Mayor and Pinance Director. <br />? Section 8. Overtime. Overtime will be paid in accordance <br />with the Fair Labor Standards Act, as amended. '
