Ordinance No. 74-37 Introduced by: Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CLERK-TREASURER TO TAKE COMPETITIVE BIDS WITHOUT ADVERTISING AND TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT EOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO FOUR-DOOR SEDANS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, OHIO, TO APPROPRIATE THE FUNDS THEREFOR; TO DECLAIEAN EMERGENCY; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 74-21 WHEREAS, in order to properly maintain operation o£ the Police Department of the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, it is immediately necessary to enter into a contract for the purpose of two 1974 four-door sedans to be designated as police cruisers; and, WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the police depart- ment, and it is immediately necessary to enter into a contract for the aforementioned equipment for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property and safety; and, WHEREAS, said emergency further exists by reason of the failure of Municipal Leasing Systems, Inc. to deliver two 1974 police cruisers in accordance with the specifications of the Village of Mayfield for lease, as provided in Ordinance 1174-21; now, therefore, OHIO: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, Section l. That the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer be and they hereby are authorized and directed to take competitive bids without advertising and enter into a contract for the purchase of two 1974 four-door sedans to be used as police cruisers. Section 2. That there be appropriated the sum of $9,151.56 or so much thereof as may be needed for this purpose. Section 3. For the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date permitted by law following its passage.
