Ordinance No. 74- 50 <br />Introduced by: Mrs. Negrelli <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A 1974 <br />CHRYSLER FOUR-DOOR SEDAN WITHOUT ADVERTISING AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council by Ordinance No. 74-12, previously authorized the <br />lease of a 1974 Chrysler 4-door sedan to replace a police cruiser which had been <br />destroyed in an accident, and <br />WfEREAS, said lease agreement was made with Municipal Leasing Systems, Inc., <br />and the Village is in possession of said leased vehicle, and <br />WHEREAS, Municipal Leasing Systems, Inc. has been adjudicated a bankrupt, and <br />WHEREAS, Northampton National Bank financed the purchase of said 1974 Chrysler <br />4-door sedan by Municipal Leasing Systems, Inc. and is the holder of a valid lien <br />on said automobile to secure repayment of its loan, and <br />WHEREAS, said loan is now in default and said bank desires to sell the <br />automobile to liquidate its loan. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and the Clerk-Treasurer be and they are hereby <br />authorized and directed to take competitive bids without advertising and enter into <br />a contract to purchase one used 1974 Chrysler, 4-door sedan,for a price not in <br />excess of $ 3 ,615.00 . <br />Section 2. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of <br />the residents.of the Village, such emergency arising out of the need to retain <br />said police department vehicle in order to properly and e£ficiently provide police <br />service and security, wherefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />from and after its passage. <br />Passed this 21gtday of OCtObeL', <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />. i : • A' '_' <br />S AL) CLE K-TREASURER <br />?
