<br />.: ? <br />Ordinance No. 75-15 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Schulte <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 53 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER <br />309, THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, AS <br />AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NUMBERS 810, 953, 1040, PERTAINING <br />TO PARKING OF VEHICLES, REPEALING ORDINANCE 73-32, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />`--- <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 53 of Ordinance No. 309, being an ordinance to regulate <br />traffic on the streets and public highways in Mayfield Village, as amended by <br />Section 3 of Ordinance 810, Ordinance No. 953, Ordinance No. 1040, and Ordinance No. <br />71-10, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 53. Parking Rules: No persons shall stand or park a vehicle, <br />except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or with the <br />provisions of this ordinance or a state law, or while obeying the dir- <br />ections of a police officer or a traffic control device, in any of <br />the following places: (A) on a sidewalk, except a bicycle; (B) in <br />front of a public or private driveway; (C) within an intersection; (D) <br />within ten feet of a fire hydrant; (E) on a crosswalk; (F) within <br />twenty feet of a crosswalk; (G) within thirty feet of any flashing <br />beacon, stop sign, or other traffic control device; (H) between a <br />safety zone and the adjacent curb, or within thirty feet of points on <br />the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless a dif- <br />ferent length is indicated by a traffic control device; (I) within <br />twenty feet of a driveway entrance to any fire station and, on the <br />side of the street opposite the entrance to any fire station, within <br />75 feet of either side of the entrance; (J) alongside or opposite any <br />street excavation or obstruction when such standing or parking vehicle <br />would obstruct traffic; (K) alongside any vehicle stopped or parked <br />at the edge or curb of a street; (L) upon any bridge or elevated <br />structure upon a highway, or within a highway tunnel; (N) within one <br />foot of another parked vehicle; (0) on the roadway portion of a freeway, <br />expressway, or throughway; (P) on the side o£ any street where fire <br />hydrants are located; (Q) between the sidewalk and a roadway, or tree- <br />lawn, or upon the center strip of any freeway, expressway, or boulevard <br />street, or in a traffic island; (R) in any fire lane on public or <br />private property which has been duly designated and posted as such by <br />the police department or the fire department of Mayfield Village; (S) <br />on any street or highway in Mayfield Village at any time when the <br />Mayor shall determine and make a written finding that ther•e exists on <br />any such street or highway two inches or more of snow in depth, which <br />require that said street or highway shall be plowed with equipment in <br />order to make such street useable for vehicular traffic; (T) wherever <br />the Chief of Police determines that there is a traffic hazard and causes <br />signs to be posted advising that no parking or stopping is permitted; <br />(U) within a school zone when school is in session and between the <br />hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. except to take on or discharge passengers <br />and then for no longer than is necessary for such purpoae; (V) on any <br />
