. <br />(b) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum of $500.00 <br />for legal services rendered in connection with each general <br />obligation bond issue of said Village. For each improvement <br />to be financed by special assessments, such legal counsel shall <br />be paid an amount equal to 1'2% of the amount of the accepted bid, <br />half at the time of the issuance of the special assessment note <br />and half at the time of sale of the bonds, which shall be com- <br />pensation for all legal services rendered in connection with the <br />special assessment note and bonds issued in connection with such <br />improvement, including the preparation of nenessary legislation <br />and the supervision of the preparation of transcripts of the pro- <br />ceedings in connection therewith; provided, however, that compen- <br />sation for services rendered by him in connection with a special <br />assessment note, shall be not less than $200.00 and in connection <br />with a special assessment bond issue shall be not less than <br />$300.00; <br />(c) For preparation of a major code or recodification of a major code, <br />such legal counsel shall be compensated in such further amount <br />as may be agreed upon between him and Council. <br />(d) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum of $25.00 per <br />hour for attendance at criminal pre-trial proceedings, criminal <br />trial proceedings and preparation therefor. Expressly excluded from <br />this additional charge are services rendered by the Law Director <br />at regularly scheduled weekly hearings conducted by the Lyndhurst <br />Municipal Court for the acceptance of pleas in criminal and traffic <br />proceedings. <br />(e) The compensation provided for in this Ordinance shall be payable out <br />of the General Eund of said Village, except that the additional com- <br />pensation for services rendered in connection with any special assess- <br />ment improvement shall be charged against the cost of said improve- <br />ment and included as a part of the cost thereof. <br />Section 5. Any necessary reasonable expenses incurred in the performance <br />of his dut3es shall, after being approved by this Council, be authorized to be paid. <br />Section 6. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, safety and <br />welfare of Mayfield Village, because of the necessity of providing adequate legal <br />counsel for the Village immediately, and shall be in full.force and effect from <br />and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed: 161:h day of June, 1975 <br />
