Ordinance No. 75-29 <br />Introduced by: Council as a YJhole <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT OR ISSUANCE OF <br />PURCHASE ORDERS WITHOUT ADVERTISING FOR THE ERECTION <br />OF A BRICK BUILDING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council has recognized the existence of a real and present emergency <br />arising in connection with the operation of the Department of Public Service by reason <br />of having razed a wood salt shed which had deteriorated to the point of being a potential <br />hazard to the safety of employees of the Village;and <br />WHEREAS, it is immediately necessary to erect a brick building to house a supply <br />o£ salt, trucks and the equipment used in conjunction therewith for the spreading of <br />salt during the winter season; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 735.051, Ohio Revised Code, authorizes the legislative authority <br />of the municipality by a two-thirds vote of inembers elected thereto to authorize enter- <br />ing into a contract for work to be done or for the purchase of supplies or for materials <br />without formal bidding and advertising; and <br />WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Board has approved the plans for the erection <br />of the structure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT.ORDP:INED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. This Council hereby ratifies, approves and authorizes work to be done, <br />the purchase of supplies and materials without Pormal bidding and advertising, in con- <br />formance with plans for the erection of a building for the purposes set forth. <br />Section 2. The Building Commissioner is authorized and directed to supervise the <br />construction of said building in accordance with plans and specifications. <br />Section 3. The Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer be and they are hereby authorized and <br />directed to pay all invoices for work done, for supplies or materials furnished for this <br />con5truction, upon certification and approval of the Building Comnissioner, but in no <br />event more than $15,000.00. <br />Section 4. The costs incurred pursuant to this ordinance shall be paid from the <br />general fund. <br />Section 5. Council declares this to be an emergency ordinance necessary for the
