Ordinance No. 76- 3 Introduced by: Mayor Beebe AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPENSATION OF THE LAW DIRECTOR AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter, Article V, Section 4, the Mayor has appointed Lawrence I. Byrnes to serve as Law Director; and WHEREAS, said appointment has been confirmed as provided by the Charter; and WHEREAS, the Council desires to provide for the compensation of the Law Director. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The compensation of the Law DirecCOr for the period from January 1, 1976 through December 31„ 1976 shall be at the rate of $7,500.00 per year, payable in equal semi-monthly installments of $312.50, which compensation shall cover all general services rendered for the municipality as Law Director with the exception of the following: (a) Such Law Director shall be paid the additional sum at the rate of $200.00 per diem for time spent on behalf of said Village or any department or officer thereof in any trial or proceeding before any court or be£ore any other public board or cotmission (other than a Board or Coffiission of this Village, and the Civil Service Commission) and at the rate of $35.00 per hour for the time spent in preparation Por any such trial or proceeding; (b) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum of $500.00 for legal services rendered in connection with each general obligation bond issue of said Village. For each improvement to be financed by special assessments, such legal counsel shall be paid an amount equal to 11j% of the amount of the accepted bid, half at the time of issuance of the special assessment note and half at the time of the sale of the bonds, which shall be compensation for all legal services rendered in connection with the special assessment note and bonds issued in connection with such improvement, including the preparation of necessary legislation and the supervision of the preparation of transcripts of the proceedings in connection therewith; provided, however, that compensation for services rendered by him in connection with a special assessment note, shall be not less than $200.00 and in connection with a special assessment bond issue shall be not less than $300.00;
