<br />Ordinance No. 76-6 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Barclay <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TfE METHOD BY <br />WHICH PUBLIC BODIES OF THIS MUNICIPALITY <br />RHATT, INSURE OPEN PUBLIC MEE7.'INGS AND <br />DECLAFtIING AN EMEI2GQJCY <br />T+EEREAS, the General Assenbly of the State of Ohio has enacted Section <br />121.22, Revised Code, which provides the conditions and circwnstances under which <br />public officials may take official action and the means and ciscuunstances under <br />which public officials may conduct deliberations upon official business; and <br />WfEREAS, the General Assenbly has provided that all official business of <br />a Public Body shall be conducted in open meetings, unless the subject matter is <br />specifically exeiTpted by law. <br />NOW, THREE'ORE, BE IT ORDAMED BY TfE CAUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VII,LAGE, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, TFIFIT: <br />Section 1. As used in this Orclinance: <br />(1) "Public Body" means the Council of this municipality, any board, can- <br />mission, cmuaittee, or similar decision-making body of thi.s municipality. <br />(2) "Meeting" means any prearranged discussion of the public business of <br />the public body by a majority of its manbers. <br />Section 2. <br />(1) Ewery public body of this municipality shall have its meeti.ng dates <br />appear on the Village calendar. <br />(2) Every regularly scheduled meeting of a public body will be held at <br />the Village Hall at the time previously stated on the Village calendar, or <br />(3) No special meeting of a public body will be held unless it qives at <br />least 24 hours advance notice to the news media that have requested notification, <br />except in the event of an emergency req,;ring immediate official action. In the <br />event of an emergency, the menber or members calling the meeting shall notify the <br />news media that have requested notification imnediately of the time, place and <br />purnose of the meeting. <br />i
