<br />? <br />Ordinance 76-8 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Bennett <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AND <br />CONSTITUTION, BY-LAWS.,AND RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />FOR THE AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCE NUMBERS 930; 1969-9; 1969-14; 70-24; <br />and 70-47; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />w <br />0 <br />Section 1. Approval of Establishment of Axuiliary Police Unit. Council <br />hereby approves the establishment of an Auxiliary Police Unit within the Police <br />Department of Mayfield Village, to work in times of war and other emergency and to <br />train and prepare for such occasions, as part of the Civil Defense Program of said <br />Village, and to exercise all of the powers conferred by Section 737.161 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code and any amendments thereto, all under the direction of the Chief of <br />Police under the control of the Mayor. <br />Section 2. Approval of Constitution, By-Laws and Rules and Regulations. The <br />Constitution, By-Laws and Rules and Regulations governing the Auxiliary Police of <br />Mayfield Village, dated January, 1976, and filed with Council, are hereby approved <br />and made a part hereof insofar as not inconsistent with law. <br />Section 3. Ordinance Numbers 930, 1969-9, 1969-14, 70-24 and 70-47 are <br />hereby repealed. <br />Section 4. Emergency. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,'health, safety, <br />and welfare of Mayfield Village and its inhabitants, because of the necessity of <br />preparing as soon as possible for any emergencies, including possible war, and this <br />ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after the date o£ its passage. <br />Passed: March 15, 1976. <br />Attest: <br />CLERK-T4W4.£URER <br />Approved'. / ?.5 76 <br />MAYOR ` <br />
