' Ordinance No. 76-25 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Barclay <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING INSULATION REQUIRE- <br />MENTS OF STRUCTURES, REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. <br />75-25, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Council has heretofore, by proper legislation, established <br />insulation requirements for dwelling structures; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to revise said requirements and make them appli- <br />cable to all structures; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Every new structure, and every new addition to a structure, shall <br />have properly installed thermal insulation with the minimum resistance factor R-19, <br />in or under the roof above the uppermost ceiling of the structure, and shall have pro- <br />perly installed thermal insulation with a minimum resistance factor R-11 in the outer- <br />most exterior walls and walls and Ploors separating imheated spaces from heated spaces. <br />All exterior windows and doors to receive glazing shall be glazed with insulated glass <br />units consisting of two lights of glass with a sealed air space between. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance shall not apply to greenhouses or additions thereto <br />? or to residential additions, provided, however, that said greenhouse or residential <br />addition is not being heated. If such greenhouse or residential addition will be <br />heated, either at the time of construction or subsequent thereto, the requirements <br />of this Ordinance are mandatory. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for <br />the preservation of the public welfare and safety of the citizens of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, and provided that it receives two-thirds vote of all members of Council elected <br />thereto, shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage; <br />otherwise to be in full force and effect from and after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br />Passed: October 18, 1976 <br />Attest: <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />Appro d: /Ol/?? %Ci <br />r ?. ?/"U v <br />MA OR <br />
