Ordinance No. 71-44 Page 2 highways, transportation facilities, and water development and land conservation projects; and for the maintenance, support, and initiation of comprehensive areawide planning in the region; and WHEREAS, Ohio law empowers local political subdivisions to contract with each other on matters necessitating such contract, when such matters are in the power of any subdivision to do singly; and WEiEREAS, the areacaide board has adopted a constitution and by-laws empowering it to comprehensively plan and to review projects and programs for ' the region, and having all powers necessary and incident thereto: NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the agreements contained herein, NOACA and the MUNICIPALITY herein agree as follows: ~ 1. That the MUNICIPALITY shall cooperate fully with NOACA in the preparation of plans, in comprehensive planning, and review of projects and programs for the region. 2. That the NOACA Board shall administer, direct and coordinate the preparation of its programs in accordance with the various Federal and State requirements. 3. That the MUNICIPALITY agrees to appropriate $207.00 as its share to support the NOACA Work Program for the calendar year 1971, the same to be payable to NOACA not later than thirty days after the execution of this Agreement. 4. It is the intent of the MUNICIPALITY that the process contemplated herein will be carried forward on a continuing basis as long as required by action of the National Congress. 5. The amount of this Agreement for financial participation by the MUNICIPALITY may be modified in this or subsequent years by written agreement between the parties.
