ORDINANCE N0. 71-45 <br />gy; HR, Bordonaro <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE N0. 309, THE TRAFFIC <br />ORDINANCE OE THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, BY ADDING <br />SECTION 90.1 RELATIVE TO STOP LIGHTS FOR VEHICLES <br />Be It Ordained By the Council of the Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, that: <br />Section 1. Ordinance No. 309, The Traffic Ordinance of the Village of <br />Mayfield, is hereby amended by adding Section 90.1, reading as follocas: <br />"Section 90.1. Stop Lights. All vehicles when operated <br />upon a highway shall be equipped with at least one stop light <br />mounted on the rear of the vehicle cahich shall be actuated upon <br />application of the service brake, and which may be incorporated <br />with other rear lights. Such stop lights when actuated shall <br />emit a red light visible from a distance of at least five hundred <br />feet to the rear, provided that in the case of a train of <br />vehicles only the stop lights on the rear-most vehicle need be <br />visible from the distance specified. <br />"Such stop lights c•~hen actuated shall give a steady warning <br />light to the rear of a vehicle or train of vehicles to indicate <br />the intention of the operator to diminish the speed of or stop <br />a vehicle or train of vehicles. <br />"I~Then stop lights are used as required by this section, they <br />shall be constructed or installed so as to provide adequate and <br />reliable illumination and shall conform to the appropriate rules <br />and regulations prescribed by the Ohio Director of Highway Safety." <br />Section 2. In all other respects, said Ordinance No. 309 shall remain <br />in full force and effect. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, safety and <br />welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, in order to protect the life, <br />limb and property of persons using the highways, and this Ordinance shall be in force <br />and effect immediately upon its passage. <br />Passed this 18th day of October 1971. <br />J <br />~ ~ r~ <br />yor- esiden of Council <br />ATTEST: <br />.~ ~ ~ ~ v <br />( (Seal) Asst.
