ORDINANCE N0. 71- 48 <br />gy; Hg, Leech <br />AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS <br />OF FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 957 <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. VACATIONS. Every full time employee of the Village of <br />Mayfield shall be entitled to the following annual vacations with pay at his <br />regular rate of compensation: <br />One week's paid vacation after twelve (12) full months of service <br />Two weeks' paid vacation after three (3) full years of service <br />Three weeks' paid vacation after fifteen (15) years of service <br />The head of each Department shall determine the schedule of vacations <br />for the employees thereof, but in case of dispute, the matter shall be settled <br />by the Mayor. <br />Vacations shall not be cumulative, but must be taken within the year <br />earned. <br />Section 2. HOLIDAYS. <br />(a) The following shall be deemed to be holidays on the dates <br />on which they are observed under the laws of the State of <br />Ohio: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, <br />Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. <br />(b) Compensation for holidays not worked. Every full-time <br />employee shall be entitled to one extra day's vacation <br />with pay at his regular rate of compensation on each of <br />the above-mentioned holidays; provided, however, that <br />if any employee without 3ust cause (as determined by the <br />head of hie department fails to report to work on a <br />regularly scheduled work day immediately preceding or <br />immediately following such holiday, he shall not be <br />entitled to compensation for the holiday not worked. <br />(c) Compensation for holidays worked. If a full-time <br />employee works on one of the above designated holidays, <br />he shall receive two times his regular rate of pay for <br />that day. If, however, such holiday does not occur <br />during such employee's regular work week schedule, he <br />shall be entitled to holiday pay for any holiday observed <br />on his day off, regardless of the day of the week on which <br />such holiday is observed. <br />
