ORDINANCE N0. 72- 8 <br />BY: TH2. BOGER <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1971 EDITION OF THE <br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE NATIONAL FIRE <br />PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION <br />Be It Ordained by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, that: <br />Section 1. There is hereby adopted by the Council of the Village <br />of Mayfield, Ohio, that certain Code known as the 1971 Edition of the National <br />Electrical Code of the National Fire Protective Association. A complete copy <br />of such Code is now on file with the Clerk-Treasurer of the Village for <br />inspection by the public and also on file in the Law Library of Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, and the Clerk-Treasurer has copies thereof available for <br />distribution to the public at cost. <br />Section 2. The National Electrical Code shall be enforced by the <br />Building Inspector & Service Director of the Village of Mayfield. <br />Section 3. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of <br />the National Electrical Code above described, or shall fail to comply therewith, <br />or caho shall violate or fail to comply with any order made thereunder, or who <br />shall build in violation of any detailed specifications or plans submitted <br />and approved thereunder, or any certificate or permit issued thereunder, and <br />from which no appeal has been taken, or who shall fail to comply with such an <br />order as affirmed or modified by the Board of Building Code Appeals or by a <br />Court of competent jurisdiction, shall severally for each and every such <br />violation and non-compliance, respectively, be guilty of a misdemeanor, <br />punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by an imprisonment for not <br />more than 30 days, or by both sucli fine and imprisonment. <br />Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, <br />safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield, and for the further reason that <br />it is necessary to adopt the National Electrical Code as revised as soon as <br />possible to protect the citizens of said Village from the dangers of defective <br />electrical wiring, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be enforced immediately <br />from and after the date of its passage, <br />Passed this 21st. day of <br />ATTEST: <br />
