<br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE BID OF
<br />CHARLES E. BRIEFER, JR. FOR RUBBISH
<br />AND GARBAGE PICK UP AND DISPOSAL
<br />WHEREAS, the Clerk-Treasurer has advertised for bide according to law
<br />for garbage and rubbish pick up and disposal; and
<br />WHEREAS, the bid of Charles E. Shiffer, Jr., a qualified and responsible
<br />bidder, is the lowest and beat submitted.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, Be It OrdAined By the Council of the Village of
<br />Mayfield, Cuyahoga Countq, Ohio, that:
<br />Section 1. The Mayor and the Clerk-Treasurer are hereby authorized to
<br />enter into an agreement on behalf of the Village of Mayfield, with said Charles E.
<br />Shiffer, Jr., incorporating the terms of hie bid and the specifications upon which
<br />he bid, which, among other things, provides for collection and disposal of garbage,
<br />rubbish and mired collectione,.(which also includes leaves, grass clippings, yard
<br />and garden refuse, tree branches and limbs and. similar materials) from the
<br />residences in the Village of Mayfield, twice a week, for the sum of Two Thousand
<br />Seventy Dollars ($2,070.00) per month. Each resident shall pay to Charles E.
<br />Shiffer, Jr. the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00) for each large item, such as washing
<br />machines, hot water tank, sofa, and like, for picking up and disposing of same.
<br />Said contract shall provide that the Village and said bidder shall each have the
<br />right to cancel this agreement for breach of any of its terms and conditions, by
<br />giving thirty (30) days notice, bq Certified Mail, to the other party. This
<br />contract shall be for a period of two (2) years, begimming July 1, 1972, and
<br />ending Juae 30, 1972. Said agreement is based upon a charge of Two Dollars and
<br />Twenty-Five Cents ($2.25) per home on a count of niner_ hundred Twenty (920) homes
<br />in the Village, and, for every increase of twenty-five (25) homes after the :date
<br />of the agreement, a charge of Two Dollars and Twenty-Five Cents ($2.25) per home,
<br />per month, will be added.
<br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency
<br />measure, necessarq for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health,
<br />safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, so that the
<br />garbage, rubbish and other waste materials, constituting a menace to health,
<br />may be disposed of without any interruption, and said Ordinance shall be in full
<br />force-aad effect from and after the date of its passage.
<br />Passed this 19th day of June, 1972.
