L <br />ORDINANCE N0. 73-44 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Davis <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF GENERAL <br />BUILDING CONTRACTORS, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, HEATING, <br />PIPING, SEWER BUILDING, AIR CONDITIONING, REFRIGERATION, <br />CEMENT OR PAVING CONTRACTORS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Registration Required. <br />No general building contractor, or plumbing, electrical, heating, piping, <br />sewer building, air conditioning, refrigeration, cement or paving contractor, <br />shall perform any work within the Village without first obtaining a certificate <br />of registration from the Building Inspector. <br />Section 2. Application. <br />Application for a certificate of registration shall be upon the form issued <br />by the Building Inspector. Such application shall be granted if the Inspector <br />finds that the applicant is qualified to perform the work for which the application <br />is sought. <br />Evidence that the applicant is currently licensed by the City of Cleveland, <br />or other city or county which., in the opinion of the Building Committee, has a <br />qualified examination, shall be sufficient evidence of qualification so as to <br />authorize the issuance of a registration certificate. <br />Evidence of repeated violations of this Building Code or other ordinances <br />shall be sufficient evidence to disqualify the applicant from receiving the <br />certificate of registration. <br />Section 3. Appeal. <br />Any applicant to whom a certificate of registration has been denied by the <br />Building Inspector may appeal such decision to Council, whose decision shall be final. <br />Section 4. Time and Fee. <br />The certificate of registration shall be valid for the calendar year in which <br />issued and shall be renewed annually thereafter. A fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall <br />be paid at the time of original issuance and at each renewal thereafter. <br />Section 5. Insurance. <br />Each applicant for a certificate of registration shall furnish evidence. of <br />insurance for bodily injury in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars/three <br />hundred thousand dollars ($100,000/$300,000), and for property damages in the <br />amount of at least fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). <br /> <br />
