ORDINANCE NUMBER ~~ ~~ ~/ <br />BY MR. COMELLA <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1, PARAGRAPH 1527'.03 OF <br />ORDINANCE NUMBER 465, THE REGIONAL DWELLING HOUSE CODE, <br />BY ADDING CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR BATHROOMS AND LAVA- <br />TORIES. <br />BE IT ORDAINID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, COUNTY <br />OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Paragraph 1527.03 of Section 1, of Ordinance Number <br />465, entitled "An Emergency Ordinance Adopting Part of a Building Code, <br />known as the Regional Dwelling House Code, and Repealing all Ordinances <br />and Parts of Ordinances as are Inconsistent Therewith," is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br />"1527.03. BATHROOM, <br />"Each dwelling unit shall contain at least a water closet, <br />lavatory and tub or stall shower in a room or rooms in which the <br />fixtures shall be arranged so as to provide at least 90-degree <br />door swing. <br />"In all showers and over all bathtubs, there shall be <br />installed an approved waterproof-finish wall, not less than six <br />feet above the floor, consisting of a scratch-coat of portland <br />cement plaster not less than five-eighths inch thick integrally <br />waterproofed and applied on metal lath. The metal lath shall be <br />securely nailed to each stud at six-inch intervals or less. When <br />metal lath is not backed with rock lath, the studs shall be covered <br />with a water-resisting covering equaling 15 pound asphalt saturated <br />felt, applied shingle style. After the scratch-coat has dried, a <br />bedding-coat shall be applied of portland cement or other water- <br />proof adhesive materials, approved by the building official. There <br />shall also be installed in all bathrooms and lavatories an approved <br />concrete floor, consisting of portland cement, not less than three- <br />fourths inch thickness, integrally waterproofed, and applied on <br />metal lath with a water-resisting underlayment equal to 15 pounds <br />asphalt saturated felt. The metal lath shall be securely nailed <br />at six-inch intervals or .less." <br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />Ordinance, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, <br />?v <br /> <br />
