<br />J <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Law In Your Life [leek - April 28-May 4, 1968 <br />Law Day U. S. A. - May 1, 1968 <br />WHEREAS, throughout the United~Statea, on May 1, 1968, all American <br />citizens will loin in a specially meaningful national observance of the <br />indispensable rules of law and courts in American life. <br />WHEREAS, designated as Law Day U. S. A. by Presidential and guberna- <br />torial proclamation, the observance will be a time for renewing our faith in <br />the role of law as a sure safeguard of the welfare of men and women living <br />together in organized society, and the brightest hope for achieving peace in <br />a troubled and anxious world. <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of Law In Your Life Week and Laca Day U. S. A. <br />is to foster an abiding respect for law which is essential in a free society, <br />and to remind us that in all our private and public affairs, we are safe- <br />guarded by laws of our own making, administered by courts in which the rights <br />of citizens are equal. <br />[,1EREAS, it is fitting that the citizens of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />set aside a week in which to rededicate themselves to the principles upon <br />which our way of life is based and to the laws and courts which safeguard the <br />freedoms established under our Federal and State Constitutions. <br />[dHL+REAS, public bodies, schools, and colleges, and private organizations <br />of all kinds are urged to participate in the observance of Law Day II. S. A. <br />and Law In Your Life [deelc caith appropriate programs and ceremonies. The <br />occasion is an appropriate one for recognition by every citizen, and by every <br />professional, religious, fraternal, and civic organization in the City. <br />NOW, THEREPORE, I, Vince J. IIusa, Mayor. of the Village of Mayfield, <br />do hereby proclaim April 28, through May 4, 1968, as Law In Your Life [leek, <br />and do proclaim May 1, 1968, as Laca Day U. S.
