<br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE BID OF CHARLES E, SHIFFER, JR. FOR
<br />RUBBISH AND GARBAGE PICK UP AND DISPOSAL.
<br />® SdHEREAS, the Clerk-Treasure~rds advertised for bids according to law
<br />for garbage and rubbish pick up and disposal; and,
<br />~ WHEREAS, the bid of Charles E. Shiffer, Jr., a qualified and responsible
<br />fy bidder, is the locaest and best submitted.
<br />~~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD,
<br />e CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT:

<br />~' Section 1. The Mayor and the Clerk-Treasurer are hereby authorized to
<br />~ enter into an Agreement on behalf of the Village of Mayfield, with said Charles
<br />~ E. Shiffer, Jr., incorporating the terms of his bid and the specifications upon
<br />~ which he bid, which, among other things, provides for collection and disposal
<br />~ of garbage, rubbish and mixed collection (which also includes leaves, grass
<br />~ clippings, yard and garden refuse, tree branches and limbs and similar materials)
<br />~ from the residences in the Village of Mayfield, once a week, for the sum of One
<br />~ Thousand Thirty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($1,037.50) per month. Said contract
<br />o shall provide that the Village and said bidder shall each have the right to cancel
<br />® this Agreement for breach of any of its terms and conditions, by giving ninety
<br />~ (90) days notice, by Certified Mail, to the other party. This contract shall
<br />~ be for a period of two (2 ), years, beginning June 1, 1968, and ending May 31,
<br />1970. Said Agreement is based upon a charge of One Dollar and Twenty-Five Cents
<br />($1.25) per home on a count of eight hundred and thirty (830) homes in the Vil-
<br />loge, and, for every increase of twenty-five (25) homes after the date of the
<br />i Agreement, a charge of One Dollar and Twenty-Five Cents ($1.25) per home, per
<br />month, will be added, _
<br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency
<br />measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health,
<br />safety and welfare of the village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, so that the
<br />garbage, rubbish and other waste materials, constituting a menace to health, may
<br />be disposed of without any interruption, and said Ordinance shall be in full force
<br />and effect from and after the date of its passage.
<br />Passed this 20th day of May, 1968.
