SCHMIDT <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERING, <br />OPERATION AND CLEANING OF INDIVIDUAL SE4IAGE TREAT^IENT <br />AND DISPOSAL PLANTS AND SEPTIC TANKS, AND TO REPEAL <br />ORDINANCE N0. 233 <br />A <br />0 <br />b <br />Y <br />W <br />N <br />Q <br />W <br />AJ.. <br />o2S <br />12' <br />0 <br />09 <br />~~ <br />e <br />Be It Ordained by the Council of the Village of Payfield, Cuyahoga County, <br />Ohio, that: <br />Section 1. Construction and Alteration of Plant. <br />No person shall construct or alter an individual sewage treatment or <br />disposal plant or septic tank within the Village of Mayfield without first obtaining <br />the written approval of the Cuyahoga County District Board of health. <br />Section 2. Operation of Tanks. <br />No person, firm or corporation shall operate any individual secoage <br />treatment or disposal plant or septic tanlctaithin the Village of Mayfield in violation <br />of any of the rules or regulations of the Cuyahoga County District Board o£ Health, <br />as the same notr exists or may be amended from tine to time. <br />Section 3. Cleaning, of Tanks. <br />Every septic tank shall be cleaned at least once every three years, in <br />accordance with the rules and regulations of the Cuyahoga County District Board of <br />Health, as the same nova exists or may be amended from time to time. Any such tank <br />which discharges settleable solids shall be cleaned immediately upon such condition <br />arising. Upon notice in trriting from the Cuyahoga County District Board of Health <br />or the Village of Mayfield Building Inspector and Service Director of the existence <br />of such condition, the owner or occupant of the premises shall cause the tank to be <br />cleaned within 30 days thereafter. Upon the completion of the cleaning of any tank, <br />the person performing such service shall notify the Building Inspector and Service <br />Director of the date of the cleaning, the location thereof and the condition of <br />said tank. <br />Section 4. Penalties. <br />Any person who shall violate any provision of this Ordinance shall be <br />fined an amount not more than $200.00 or shall be imprisoned for not more than 30, <br />days, or bath, for each offense, and each full day's violation of this Ordinance <br />shall be deemed a separate offense. <br />Section 5. Existing Ordinance No. 288, entitled "An Ordinance Requiring <br />Applicants for Permits to Construct or Alter D;aellings to Secure Approval of the <br />Cuyahoga County District Board of Health of Plans and Specifications for Sewage <br />Treatment Plants", passed Plarch 15, 1948, is hereby repealed as of the effective <br />date of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />
