; <br />Ordinance No. 887 <br />By Mr. Belzer <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF CLERK OF THE <br />MAYOR'.S COURT & TOWN HAT,L CLERIC, FIXING_THE TENURE, <br />COMPEI,VSATION,AND.DUTIES_THEREOF, AND.REPEAI,ING _ <br />ORDINANCES NOS.,650, 757,AND 856 <br />Sec. 1. There is hereby created the position of Clerk of Mayor's <br />Court & Tozan Ha11,Clerk, whieti will take the place o£ the offices of Clerk <br />of the Mayor's Court, and Clerk.of the Service Department. The Clerk of <br />the Mayor's Court & Town Hall Clerk shall be appointed by the Piayor, with <br />the consent of the majority of the members elected to Council, and shall <br />serve until removed at any time by an affirmative vote of a majority of the <br />members elected to Gouncil. <br />Sec. 2. Compensation. The Clerk of the Mayor's Court & Town Hall <br />Clerk shall be compensated at the rate of $1.65 per hour, but such compensation <br />may be changed at any time by resolution or nrdinance passed by Council, and <br />the occupant of said position shall have ttao weeks vacation with pay each year <br />' at such time as is specified by the Mayor. The vacation pay shall be computed <br />upon the basis of the average weekly pay received by the occupant of said <br />office during the calendar year in which the vacation is granted. <br />Sec. 3. Duties. The Clerk of the Mayor's Court & Town Hall Clerk shall <br />be on duty in the Village Hall five days a week between the hours of 9 o'clock <br />A. M. and 3 o'clock P. M. and on one evening a week between 7 o'clock P. M. <br />and 9 o'clock P. M., and shall attend all sessions of the Mayor's Court. The <br />Clerk shall prepare and type all forms, papers, reports, dockets in connection <br />with the business of the Mayor's Court, shall receive fines and give receipts <br />therefor, shall assist the police in their clerical work, and prepare and <br />type the forms and records of the Police Department, shall type statements of <br />prisoners and suspects at any time when required, shall take the requests for <br />building inspections, shall receive telephone calls attd take messages, and <br />shall answer requests for information during the hours that the Clerk is on <br />duty. The Clerk shall perform all duties required of her by the riayor, the <br />Police Department and the Service Department during the hours that she is on <br />duty. _ <br />Sec. 4. Existing ordinances Nos. 650, 757 and 856 are hereby repealed. <br />Sec. 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />?7 <br />
