Former officers or'employees. No person within a <br />period of one year a ter termina ion o is services as an officer or <br />employee of the Village of MayfieId shall appear before any board or <br />commission of said Village as counsel, attorney, or agent for or on <br />behalf of any person,-firm, or corporation, or receive compensation <br />for any services rendered thereto, in relation to any matter which was <br />under his charge during the period of his services as such officer or <br />employee. No person after termination of his services as an officer <br />or employee._of the Village of Mayfield shall accept employment as a <br />lawyer in any matter which he has investigated or passed upon while in <br />such office or employ,__or engage in the practice of law before any <br />court in any litigation in which the Village of Mayfield is a party <br />which involves any such matter. <br />Sec'. 3'. Penalty. Whoever violates any of the provisions of <br />this Ordinanc- sI-a1TTe guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction <br />thereof, shall be fined in--an amount not exceeding $500,00 or imprieon- <br />ed for not more than 30 days, or. both. <br />Sec.'4. Emergency'. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public, peace, safety, and welfare; in that the protection of the <br />public interest should be paramount in-the performance of public service <br />and the establishment of adequate sanctions is the best means of <br />preventing abuses resulting from conflict of interest arising in <br />official conduct, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br />from and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 15th day of August ' •', 1965. <br />mayoT - resiaenc o ounci <br />Attest: <br />? <br />?. <br />? er
