ORI]INANCE No. 933 <br />gy`Mr; Sloan <br />AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PERMIT FEES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, <br />ALTERATION, ADDITION.TO, IMPROVEMENT,,DEMOLITION AND <br />RFMOVAI..OF BUILDINGS AND PARTS THEREOF4 PRESCRIBING A <br />CABH BOND_FOR.CONSTRUCTION OF,NEW_BUII.DINGS AND.REPEALING ORDINANCEI NO._826._ <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TFIE VIIS,AGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />STATE OF_OHIO, THAT: <br /> <br />Sec. 1. From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the following <br />schedule of fees shall be in force and effect for the granting of permits for <br />the construction, alteration, addition to, improvement, demolition and removal <br />of buildings and parts thereof within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio; and the <br />fees hereinafter prescribed shall be additive and, unless othenwise speciEically <br />provided, separate fees shall be paid for each of the items listed; <br />PII2MIT FEES <br />Calculating Aggregate Floor Areas. The aggregate floor area shall be the <br />sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several floors, including basements, <br />cellars, and attics that are at least fifty percent (50%) habitable. All <br />horizontal dimensions shall be taken from the exterior faces of walls, <br />including enclosed porches. The floor space of a building or other structure <br />so used herein shall mean the floor space for each floor, including basements <br />where used for business or by the public or as living quarters, attached <br />garages, breezeways and covered porches. <br />Establishing Cost. Where the permit fee is based upott cost of the work <br />done under the permit, such costs shall be the actual cost as certified <br />tiy the owner or authorized representative o£ the owner, and as approved <br />by the Building Official, The Building Official may, at any time up to <br />three months after the completiott of the building, require the submission <br />of authoritative estimates or actual cost data to substantiate the estimated <br />cost stated in the application for permit, and require the payment of <br />additional fees when it is demonstrated that the actual cost of the work <br />is in excess of the estimated cost upon which permit fees were based. <br />ReEund of Permit Fees. Whenever the work, for which a permit has been issued, <br />has been abandoned and is not to be done, such permit may be returned to the <br />Building Official for cancellation and after a deduction of Five Dollars <br />($5.00) from the permit fee has been made, otte-half of the balance of the <br />permit„fee, if any, shall be refunded. <br />
