Sec. 6. Vehicle Markings Required. No commercial vehicle shall be <br />operated upon the streets, highways, bridges or culverts within this Municipality <br />which does not display on the side thereof in plain, legible letters and figures <br />the weight of the vehicle fully equipped, manufacturer's rated carrying capacity, <br />and the tire widths of the vehicle. <br />Sec. 7. Zog Book, Safety Equipment. No motor transportation company or <br />private motor carrier, as defined in Ohio Revised Code 4921.04 shall operate <br />any.motor vehicle upon the roads, streets or highways in this Municipality, <br />without carrying a log book, safety equipment and complying with all other rules <br />and regulations as prescribed by the Public Utilities Conmission of Ohio. <br />Sec. 8. Vehicle Identification. No motor transportation company or <br />private motor carrier, as.defined in Ohio Revised Code 4921.01 and 4921.02, <br />shall operate any motor vehicle on the roads, streets or highways in this <br />Municipality, without having displayed on both sides thereof in such places as <br />to be easily seen by anyone wishing to identify the vehicle, the following in <br />letters and figures not less than two inches in height and three-eighths inches <br />in width; <br />(a) Company number of vehicle, <br />(b) Company name, location and state <br />Sec. 9. Transporting Hitchhiker or other Unauthorized Persons Prohibited. <br />a. No person, except the carrier, employees of the carrier, represett- <br />tatives of the shipper when their presence is necessary for the safe care of <br />livestock, representatives of the Commission, or public officials in the proper <br />performance of their duties, shall be transported upon atty motor vehicle <br />transporting property; provided, however, that each person permitted by this <br />paragraph to be transported upott such motor vehicle, except those engaged in <br />the actual operation of the motor vehicle, shall have printed or written authority <br />therefor from the carrier. This rule does not prohibit the carrying of any persou <br />in case of an accident, or in other extreme emergencies. <br />b. Except in case of emergency, no driver shall permit a motor vehicle <br />to which he is assigned to be driven by any person not authorized to drive <br />such vehicle by the motor carrier in control thereof. <br />Sec. 10. Penalties. Whoever violates any provision of this Ordinance <br />shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than twenty- <br />five dollars ($25.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) and shall <br />stand committed until such fine is paid. ,. , <br />Sec. 11.
