Chapter 43 of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 726, entitled: "An <br />Ordinance Adoptino the Regional Building Code, Applying to Structures Not, <br />Governdd by Ordinance No. 465, entitled: "The Dwelling House Code of the <br />Village of Mayfield^ and Repealing All Ordinances and Parts Thereof as are <br />inconsistent Herewith", is hereby amended by adding Section 1643.58 reading <br />as follows: , <br />"Par. 1643.58. Special Requirements for Signs in Commercial Districts. <br />In addition to all other requirements imposed in Chapter 43 of Sectiott <br />1 of Ordinance No. 726, the Regional Building Code, the follocoing <br />requirements are hereby imposed for the erection, ittstallation, <br />maintenance, use, and replacement of outdoor signs and display <br />structures in commercial (Class U-4) districts: <br />(a) Permits - A=chitectural Board of Revi.ew. <br />In.addition to compliance with any applicable provisions of the <br />2oning Ordinances of the Village of Mayfield, a permit shall be <br />obtained for the erection, installation, maintenance, use, or <br />replacement of an outdoor sign, from the Building Inspector, after <br />approval by the Architectural Board of Reyiew, p fee of $25.00 <br />shall accompany an application for such permit. , <br />General Principles to be Applied by Architectural Board of <br />The Architectural Board of Review, in passing upon an applicatiott <br />such a permit, shall take into consideration, not only factors of <br />safety and the other requirements hereina£ter set forth, but also <br />may consider the matter of attractive and hazmonious architectural <br />desigtts, so that property values in the neighborhood will not be <br />adversely affected and so that slum conditions will not result. <br />(c) Projecting Signs, Ground Signs, and Roof Signs. <br />No,signs shall project over any street or public sidewalk. No <br />ground sign or roo£ sign shall be permitted. No sign shall be <br />permitted in a driveway or parking lot. <br />
