ORDINANCE No. 948 <br />By Mr. Shaw <br />AN ORDINANCE AMIIWING SECTION 3(a) OF ORDINANCE <br />N0. 476 BY INCREASING TNE COMPENSATION OF.VOLUNTEER <br />EIRFMEN FOR.FIRE DRILLS__ <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIT. OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THQT• <br />Sec. 1. Section 3(a) of Ordinance No. 476, entitled: "An Ordinance <br />Re-Codifying the Various Ordinances Establishing and Creating a Volunteer <br />Fire Department for the Village of Mayfield, Adding the Position of Assistant <br />Chief, and Repealong Ordinances Nos. 231, 292, 302, 412, 434, 462, and All <br />Ordittances Inconsistent Herewith" is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Sec. 3(a) Each volunteer fireman and each officer of the <br />Fire Department shall be compensated at the rate of $2.00 for each <br />fire drill that he attends, provided, however, that such fire drills <br />are duly authorized by the Chief of the Fire Department, or in his <br />absence by the Assistant Chief." <br />Sec. 2. Existing Section 3(a) of said Ordinance No. 476 is hereby <br />repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Sec. 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants for the reason <br />that it is important that Volunteer Firemen be encouraged to attend fire <br />drills by obtaining proper compensation, and this ordinance shall be in full <br />force and effect from and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 21st day of March, 1966. <br />Attest: C7"? ??LU t <br />Mayor - President of Council <br />(SEAI.)
