ORDINANCE No. 954 <br />By Mr. Shaw <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE N0. 583, <br />AS AMfiNDED, BY INCREASING THE COMPENSATION OF MIIIBERS <br />OF'THE POI.ICE DEPARTTIEHT AND PROHISITING OUTSIDE _ <br />EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT APPROVAL.OF THE CHIEF OF,POLICE <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VIZLAGE OF MAYFIII.D, CUYAIIOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THAT: _ <br />Sec. 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 583, entitled: "An Ordinance to <br />Provide for the Tenure and Compensation of Members of the Pqlice Department, <br />to Add the Position of Sergeant of Police and to Repeal Ordinance_No. 479, as <br />Amended by Ordinance No. 546", as amended by Ordinance No. 895, is hereUy <br />amended to read as follows: . <br />"Sec. 3. Compensatiin and Allowance for Uniforms. The following <br />compensation shall be pad, beginning as of July 1, 1966, but may be <br />changed at any time by Council, by Ordinance or Resolution; <br />Overtime Hrly Rate <br />Marshall or Chief of Police $8,500 per year 3.75 <br />Sergeant of Police: <br />During first two years $6,800 per year 2.95 <br />After two years service ,7,150.00 per year 3.10 <br />Regular Policemen for <br />6 month probationery period at rate of $5,900 per yr 2.60 <br />Thereafter for his second 6 mo of service <br />at rate of $ 6,150.00 per year 2.70 <br />Thereafter during his second 12 months of <br />service at the rate of $6,400.00 per year 2.80 <br />Thereafter at rate of $6,650.00 per year 2.90 <br />Any hours worked in excess of 44 hours <br />itt any one week shall be considered as overtime <br />Special Policemen $2.50 per hour during which he serves <br />on such an assigttment by the Mayor or Chief of Police. The total number <br />oE hours to be served by all Special Policemen during any one week shall <br />not exceed 64, but Council may change the maximum number of hours at <br />any time by ordinance or resolution. Provided, however, that the Mayor <br />at his discretion may authorize the employment of Special Policemen after <br />their regular working hours, at the rate of $2.50 per hour, for the purpose <br />of service of summons and notices upon and arresting persons within and <br />outside o£ the Village of Mayfield who have failed to appear in the Mayorts <br />Court of this Village in response to any warrants, summons or arrest notice,
