Special arrangements may be made by Council with Special Policemen whereby they shall not be paid for police services performed in connection with the operation of their own businesses or of businesses for which they are compettsated by the owners thereof. Uniform Allowance: In addition to their regular compensation, each regular member oE the Police Department shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased by him for use in his police work; provided, however, that such reimbursement shall not exceed the sum of $125.00 per year and must be supported by bills showing the cost of same. In addition, each Special Policeman shall be likewise so reimbursed, except that his maximum allowance for uniforms shall be $50.00 per year. Hospitalization Insurance: In addition to their regular compensation, the Village shall pay to Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio, Inc, the cost of hospitalization medical mutual insurance for each regular member of the Police Department. Outside Enployment; No regular member of the Police Department shall work at any other employment unless he has the written approval of the Chief of Police, who shall not grant such approval unless he finds that such outside employment will not, due to the nature of the work and the hours to be worked, interfere with the efficiency of said member of the Police Departmettt. 11 Sec. 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, because o£ the necessity of providing the maximum police protection within the limits of the funds available for that purpose, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
