' (Sec. 31.7 Cont'd) <br />c, Maximum Area and Number Permitted <br />The maximum gross area of all permanent signs permitted <br />for each separate use occupying a building, or unit of a <br />building, shall be related to the width of the building, or <br />unit thereof, adjusted, however? so that the smaller establish- <br />ments may be permitted reasonable sigtt areas and so that the <br />larger establishments may not have excessive sign areas, as <br />determined by the Yormula, <br />Local Business District <br />Maximum gross area of signs -(W x 1.2) + 30 <br />the elements of said formula being defined as follows: <br />Maximum Gross Area, means the total area of all <br />permanent signs as defined i? Sec. 30.8 (4). <br />'W, means the "frontage of a building" which shall <br />be the width of the facade of the building, store, or <br />service unit which faces the principal street, or the <br />facade containing the main entrance of a building, <br />store, or service unit; for corner buildings 40 per <br />cent of the building depth £acing the side street may <br />be included itt the frontage width factor. <br />Example: Assume a 30 foot wide store facing one street <br />in a Local Business District: Maximum gross <br />area of sigtts equals 30 x 1.2 + 30 = 66 <br />square feet. <br />Sec. 31.8 DEVELOPMENT PLANS <br />PrelimiAary attd final site plans shall be prepared by the <br />developer for all proposed developments and submitted to the Planning <br />Commission for review and approval in accordance with the provisions <br />Mvz -13-
