ORDINANCE NO. 2008-42 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCE' ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 1309 OF THE VILLAGE'S CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />PERTAINING TO PERMITS AND FEES; PENALTY AND ADDING <br />A PROVISION REGARDING INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR <br />CONTRACTORS REGISTERING IN THE VILLAGE. <br />WHEREAS, at this time, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and <br />welfare of all Village residents to specifically amend Chapter 1309 to include a provision pertaining <br />to insurance requirements of contractors registering with the Village as provided in Chapter 1313. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 1309 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village pertaining to permit <br />and Fees; Penalty is hereby and herein amended to include the following Section: <br />1309.23 Evidence of Insurance Required of Applicants for a Certificate of <br />Registration of Contractor Pursuant to Chapter 1313.05. <br />Liability insurance pursuant to Section 1313.05 in the amount of Five <br />Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000 for any one person and One <br />Million Dollars ($1 000 000) for all persons for personal injury or <br />death and an amount not less than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />x$200 000) for damage to property caused by work authorized by the <br />permit. <br />SECTION 3. All other Codified Ordinances in Sections not specifically amended herein <br />shall remain in effect unless inconsistent with this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this Ordinance to the Codifier of the Village of Mayfield. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
