ORDINANCE NO. 2008-42 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCE' ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1309 OF THE VILLAGE'S CODIFIED ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO PERMITS AND FEES; PENALTY AND ADDING A PROVISION REGARDING INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTRACTORS REGISTERING IN THE VILLAGE. WHEREAS, at this time, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all Village residents to specifically amend Chapter 1309 to include a provision pertaining to insurance requirements of contractors registering with the Village as provided in Chapter 1313. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Chapter 1309 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village pertaining to permit and Fees; Penalty is hereby and herein amended to include the following Section: 1309.23 Evidence of Insurance Required of Applicants for a Certificate of Registration of Contractor Pursuant to Chapter 1313.05. Liability insurance pursuant to Section 1313.05 in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000 for any one person and One Million Dollars ($1 000 000) for all persons for personal injury or death and an amount not less than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars x$200 000) for damage to property caused by work authorized by the permit. SECTION 3. All other Codified Ordinances in Sections not specifically amended herein shall remain in effect unless inconsistent with this Ordinance. SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Ordinance to the Codifier of the Village of Mayfield. SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
