EXIII~I'~ 5
Technical Details: liiber Optics
• Core Backbone
• Distance. Overall fiber distance is estimated to be 4.32 route miles (6.95 Km).
• Projected Losses around the Core Backbone -Estimated using the following assumptions:
- Approximately 14 splice points
- Inherent fiber loss of .26 db / km at 1310nm
14 (Splice Points) x 0.1 dB = 1.4 dB
6.95 Km Distance x .26 dB (1310nm) = 1.80dB
Total Projected Loss 3.2 dB
• Demarcation points are defined as an OneCommunity fiber distribution panel installed in each
required customer location.
• Fiber Type: Single Mode Fiber, SMF-28e to meet or exceed Maximum Attenuation of 0.26 dB/km
at 1310nm and 0.28 dB/km at 1550nm.
Technical Details: Equipment
• All DWDM nodes will be a stackable 40 lambda system with the ability to transport 10
megabit - 40 Gigabit channels, Fiber Channel, SONET, and Alien Waveform signals.
• All DWDM spans over 30 miles will use dispersion compensation for proper channel
separation.
• All OneCommunity Ethernet backbone elements will contain aMulti-protocol Label
switched (MPLS) for connectivity into the OneCommunity Backbone.
• All fiber connections will use Single Mode fiber optics
• All backbone links from end user locations will use either LX/LH SFP for distances
ranging between 1 - 6 miles (KM) or ZX SFP for distances between 6 - 60 miles (KM).
On ZX optics between the distances of 6-20 Miles will be properly attenuated to ensure
the optical lifespan of the SFP.
• All Backbone Links between the customer premise and the OneCommunity core
backbone will be at a minimum of 10 Gigabit connections.
• All OneCommunity backbone Ethernet MPLS nodes must be fully meshed with the
OneCommunity backbone nodes.
• All Internet services through OneCommunity have multiple upstream peers to provide the
maximum redundancy.
Connection to the OneCommunity Network will allow customer of Mayfield Village to gain access to multiple
service partners as well as the OneCommunity enterprise network for video, voice, storage, and program
applications.
