MPLS Network -Remote Site Circuit Testing
1.0 BACKGROUND
OneCommunity executes a formalized project planning and testing methodology throughout its lifecycle
development and management of network circuits. Before customer acceptance occurs,
OneCommunity proposes a circuit testing procedure that is developed for each computing environment
and specific network architecture. The circuit testing procedure for OneCommunity, Time-Warner,
Global Crossing and AT&T must be accepted by the customer before OneCommunity engineers begins
end-to-end circuit testing.
2.0 TEST SETUP PARAMETERS
A circuit test begins with the completion of Test Setup Parameters:
Test Setup Parameters
Customer Name:
Customer Location:
Type of Customer Premise Equipment:
Laptop used:
IP address of Laptop:
IP address of Gateway(s):
Circuit Bandwidth:
Circuit Carrier (i.e. 1C,AT&T, TWC):
CPE Location:
Person doing testing:
The Test Setup Parameters include information gathering of background data that is stored within a
project document management system.
Basic transport and connectivity testing is executed through a series of "ping" tests, changing packet size
and measuring response time to various network gateways. Samples of "ping" test output are located in
Appendix A.
1375 EUCLID AVENUE, SUITE 500 CLEVELAND, OH 44115 • PHONE 2161923.2200 • FAX 216!621.3042
W W W.ONECOM M UNITY.ORG
PAGE 2
