RESOLUTION NO. 2015-08 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A COlVTRACT <br />WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />FOR ITS 2015-2016 SALT PARTICIPATION PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of Mayfield Village to maintain and operate the roadways <br />in the Village for the safety of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Deparhnent of Transportation ("ODOT") invites a111oca1 governments <br />and political subdivisions to partner with ODOT for the cooperative purchase of rock salt (Summer <br />Contract #418-16) and (Winter Contract #018-16) for the 2015-16 winter season; and <br />WHEREAS, as members of the State Cooperate Purchasing Progam, Mayfield Village is <br />eligible to participate in the ODOT program and was a program participant in previous salt contracts <br />presently in effect. <br />WHEREAS, this Memorandum of Understanding facilitates solutions to problems <br />encountered by the Village as it plans for the development/redevelopment and conservation of its <br />environment, as well as water quality improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, this Memorandum of Understanding describes the process for collaboration <br />between the parties in carrying out mandated responsibilities, especially related to the Minimum <br />Control Measures for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) for Storm <br />Water as defined in Ohio Revised Code Section 3745-39-04(B)(1) through (6). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Council hereby authorizes participation in the Ohio Department of <br />Transportation Summer (418-16) and Winter (018-16) contracts for road salt. <br />SECTION 2. The Village is hereby bound by all terms and conditions as the Director of <br />Transportation prescribes. Furthermore, Mayfield Village agrees to directly pay vendors, for items it <br />receives pursuant to the aforementioned contract.
