RESOLUTION N0.2014-08 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING OHIO VOTERS <br />TO SUPPORT STATE ISSUE 1 <br />RENEWAL OF THE STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM <br />ON THE MAY 6, 2014 BALLOT <br />WHEREAS, Ohio local communities are in continuing need of support for <br />vital road, bridge, sewer, water and other infrastructure projects; and <br />WHEREAS, Ohio has in place a state program of support for local <br />communities which not only helps to fund infrastructure projects, but also creates <br />large numbers of construction and allied jobs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio State Capital Improvements Program. has <br />successfully provided support for more than 11,500 such projects and resulting <br />job creation since its inception in 1987; and <br />WHEREAS, Issue 1 on the May 6, 2014 statewide ballot provides Ohio <br />voters with the opportunity to renew the program by authorizing issuance of <br />$1.875 billion in capital improvement bonds; and <br />WHEREAS, no new taxes are required to fund repayment of the bonds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, OF <br />HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Mayfield Village Council declares its support for State Issue <br />1, and urges Ohio voters to cast their votes in support of continuing the <br />infrastructure improvement and job creation Issue 1 will foster. <br />SECTION 2. The Council fmds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open <br />meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its <br />committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the <br />public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
