<br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />ANDY ARTH <br />WHEREAS, on January 20, 2014, Andy Arth, an employee of the Mayfield <br />Village Racquet Club, initiated early advanced care to Greg Mueller, who had collapsed <br />due to a lethal arrhythmia. <br />WHEREAS, because of the quick response, coupled with the activation of the <br />emergency response system (911), Greg Mueller survived the cardiac event. Andy Arth <br />retrieved the AED, attached it to Mr. Mueller, and delivered a shock within three <br />minutes of the collapse. The AED recognized a lethal arrhythmia and advised to initiate <br />a shock which allowed for Return of Spontaneous Circulation. Working with Dr. <br />Marius Gota, a bystander playing on the court next to the victim, Greg Mueller was alert <br />and oriented by the time the Mayfield Village Fire Department arrived. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />MAYFIELI) VILLAGE, OHIO, THATe <br />Andy Arth be thanked and commended for his quick actions, <br />which were crucial in the positive outcome of the event. <br />• <br />SECTION 1. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to~the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code. <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare <br />duplicate original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to <br />Andy Arth. The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village. <br />SECTION 3.
