RESOLUT~I041~0-1
INTRODUCED BY
e
~~
~I2
Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole
A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO
DR. IVIARIUS GOTA
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2014, Dr. Marius Gota was playing racquetball at
the Mayfield Village Racquet Club when Greg Mueller, who was playing on the court
next to him collapsed due to a lethal arrhythmia.
WHEREAS, because of the quick response, coupled with the activation of the
emergency response system (911), Greg Mueller survived the cardiac event. Working
with employee Andy Arth, Dr. Gota began CPR as Mr. Arth retrieved the AED,
attached it to Mr. Mueller, and delivered a shock within three minutes of the collapse.
The early CPR kept perfusion to the cerebral vasculature. When the Mayfield Village
Fire Department arrived, Greg Mueller was alert and oriented.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
Dr. Harius Gota be thanked and commended for his quick
actions, which were crucial in the positive outcome of the event.

SECTION 1. The Council fmds and determines that all formal actions of the
Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of
this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in
such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all
statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio
Revised Code.
SECTION B. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare
duplicate original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Dr.
Marius Gota. The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption by Council
and the signature of the Mavor, or as may otherwise be provided by law.
RESOLUTION PASSEL
APPROVED AS TO FORM:
ATTEST: .,
Mary Betsa, Cl
