RESOLUTION N0.2014-19 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY <br />OF RENEWING BY LEVY A TAX <br />IN EXCESS OF THE 10-MILL LIMITATION <br />AND SUBMITTING THE SAME TO THE <br />ELECTORATE OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it to be in the best interest of the municipality to <br />renew the levy of a 2.3 mills tax for an additional period of five (5) years for the payment <br />of current expenses. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. It is necessary to renew a levy of 2.3 mills in excess of the 10-mill <br />limitation for the benefit of Mayfield Village for the purpose of paying current expenses at <br />a rate not to exceed 2.3 mills for each $1.00 of valuation, which amounts to Twenty-Three <br />Cents ($.23) for each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of valuation for a period of five (5) <br />years beginning with the tax duplicate year 2015, which levy is a renewal of an existing <br />levy of 2.3 mills. <br />SECTION 2. The question of renewing the existing tax levy shall be submitted to the <br />electors of Mayfield Village, Ohio, at the general election to be held at the usual voting <br />places within said municipality on November 4, 2014. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to certify a <br />copy of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as provided by law no <br />later than August 6, 2014, and to notify the Board of Elections to cause notice of said <br />election on the question of levying said tax to be given as required by law. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this <br />Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
