RESOLUTION N0.2014-20 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br />THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE OHIO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an application filed by Mayfield Village, and in coordination <br />with the Chagrin River Watershed Partners, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, (the <br />"Ohio EPA"), has granted and awarded to the Village a State Surface Water Improvement Grant <br />in the amount of One Hundred and Twenty-Six Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($126,500.00); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Grant has been awarded to facilitate the installation of approximately <br />7,100 sq. feet of permeable pavement at the Mayfield Village Civic Center parking lot and <br />address run-off from approximately 20,000 sq. feet of existing asphalt parking lot, also known as <br />the Mayfield Village Civic Center Storm Water Retrofit Demonstration Project; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to memorialize the terms of this Grant, the Village deems it in its <br />best interest to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Ohio EPA. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and President of Council are hereby and herein authorized <br />and directed to enter into an Ohio EPA Surface Water Improvement Fund Grant Agreement with <br />the Ohio EPA in a form substantially similar to that attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference as Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took <br />place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not <br />
