<br />A RESOLUTION THANKING
<br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE FIRE CHIEF DAVID R. MOHR
<br />FOR OVER THIRTY-THREE YEARS OF DEDICATION AND SERVICE
<br />? AND CONGRATULATING HIM ON HIS RETIREMENT
<br />WHEREAS, David R. Mohr began his career as a firefighter in 1977 in Willoughby Hills and was hired by
<br />the Mayfield Village Fire Department on April 16, 1979. Less than 10 years later, on June 15, 1987, he was
<br />promoted to Chief of the Mayfield Village Fire Department; and
<br />'HEREAS, In his 33 years of service to Mayfield Village, Chief Mohr developed the Fire Department into
<br />...e professional organization it is today, leaving an indelible mark. Chief Mohr has been responsible for much
<br />of the expansion and delivery of emergency medical service coupled with upgrading the skills, training and
<br />material of the Fire Department. He has promoted collaborative work with paramedics, hazmat response,
<br />technical rescue, interoperable communications and Homeland Security. In addition to his regular duties,
<br />Chief Mohr was instrumental in the design and construction of the new Fire Station, dedicated on July 6,
<br />1996; and WHEREAS, Chief Mohr was a founding member of the Cuyahoga County Fire Chief's Association, serving
<br />as its President from 2002-2007. He also served on the Cuyahoga Emergency Advisory Board (CEM) from
<br />1987-1995, was an active member of the Communications Committee from 2002-2012, and on August 4,
<br />1995, achieved the rank of Executive Fire Officer with the National Fire Academy; and
<br />WHEREAS, Chief Mohr is a member of the Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee where his
<br />focus has been upon Cuyahoga County: He was a driving force of Cuyahoga. County's partnership with the
<br />State of Ohio Multi-Agency Radio Communications System (MARCS) that has achieved state-of-the-art
<br />interoperability throughout the County; and
<br />WHEREAS, Chief David Mohr and his wife, Mary have been happily married for 26 years and have three
<br />children, Jason, Kate, and Jill, and one loving granddaughter, Maddie. On December 31, 2012, Chief Mohr
<br />officially retired from the Mayfield Village Fire Department, pledging to spend more quality time with his family
<br />at their home in Marblehead where he loves to go boating and fishing; and
<br />WHEREAS, Chief Mohr's extensive knowledge and proven experience will be greatly missed by his friends
<br />and colleagues.
<br />DW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
<br />Chief David R. Mohr be and is hereby recognized for
<br />over thirty-three (33) years of dedicated and exceptional service to Mayfield Village.
<br />SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers, employees and officials wish
<br />to thank David Mohr for his many years of dedicated service and congratulate him on his retirement.
<br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption
<br />of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its
<br />committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory
<br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
<br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate original copies of
<br />this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Chief David Mohr. The other original shall be placed in the
<br />permanent records of the Village as a lasting tribute to Chief David Mohr.
<br />SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective upon its ado
<br />Mayor, or as may otherwise be provided by law. , I
