6 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012-10 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />EXPRESSING SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES <br />TO THE COMIVIUNITY OF CHARDON <br />AND TO THE FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND CLASSMATES <br />OF DEMETRIUS HEWLIN, DANIEL PARMERTOR <br />AND RUSSELL KING, JR. <br />WHEREAS, on February 27, 2012, a senseless act of violence occurred at <br />Chardon High School which shocked and saddened all citizens in the community <br />and throughout the world; and <br />WHEREAS, due to this tragic event, the lives of three students were lost: <br />Daniel Parmertor, Demetrius Hewlin and Russell King, Jr.; and <br />WHEREAS, our hearts and prayers go out to the Chardon Community <br />enduring this tragedy which so profoundly affected their lives and will forever be <br />etched in our memories; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Members of Council of Mayfield Village wish <br />to express sympathy and condolences to the families, friends and classmates of <br />Demetrius Hewlin, Daniel Parmertor and Russell King, Jr., and to the citizens of <br />Chardon; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Members of Council of Mayfield Village wish <br />to thank school officials and first responders who rose to the surface, including <br />Coach Frank Hall and Joseph Ricci for their strength and courage in risking their <br />own lives intervening on behalf of the injured students; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Members of Council of Mayfield Village wish <br />to acknowledge the entire student body for their bravery and steadfastness; the <br />heart of the Chardon Community, who pulled together to bring comfort to the <br />families of victims through an outpouring of compassion, prayers and donations.
