RESOLUTION NO. 2012-15 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELI) <br />TO CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE <br />HILLCREST REGIONAL FIRE INVESTIGATION <br />STRIKE FORCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the municipalities of Beachwood, Gates Mills, Highland Heights, <br />Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Pepper Pike, Richmond Heights and South <br />Euclid have entered into an Agreement setting forth the terms, conditions, rights, duties and <br />obligations of each relative to the establishment of a short term mobilization of fire <br />investigators, together with allied resources, to apply high intensity investigator efforts to a <br />fire incident; and <br />WHEREAS, said group is known as the Hillcrest Regional Fire Investigation Strike <br />Force; and <br />WHEREAS, the participating municipalities have developed the Strike Force to meet <br />the needs of each municipality regarding the investigation and detection of the causes of fire <br />with a goal of reducing arson related activities; and <br />W-HEREAS, in order to continue the Strike Force it is necessary to enter into a <br />cooperative agreement between and among the various municipalities, and to allocate funds to <br />continue to support the Strike Force. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. This Council authorizes the City to continue to participate in the <br />Hillcrest Regional Fire Investigation Strike Force. <br />SECTION 2. This Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a cooperative Agreement <br />between and among the various members of the Hillcrest Regional Fire Investigation Strike <br />Force, which Agreement will outline the rights, duties and obligations of each of the members <br />of the Strike Force. <br />SECTION 3. The Agreement shall be negotiated between the municipalities, and the <br />Village's Director of Law is authorized to include in said Agreement whatever provisions are <br />necessary to protect the rights of the Village of Mayfield.
