<br />RESOLUTION 2011-03 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />CCO~i <br />A RESOLUTION OF CONGRATULATIONS TO <br />. DR. PHILLIP PRICE <br />OHIO'S SUPERINTENDENT OF THE YEAR . <br />WHEREAS, on January 5, 2011, Dr. Phillip Price, Superintendent of the Mayfield City School District, <br />was presented with the award. of 2011 Superintendent of the Year for Ohio by the Buckeye Association of <br />School Administrators. This honor. is given to Superintendents based upon their work in education and within <br />the community;,and <br />WHEREAS, selected from a large pool of candidates, the Association duly noted that "Phil Price's work <br />as a Superintendent in Ohio and Illinois has demonstrated for three decades that he is a highly successful <br />Superintendent. His leadership has shown that he brings schools and communities together for the benefit of <br />students. Fie is an outstanding individual.°; and <br />WHEREAS, this exceptional award received by Dr. Phillip Price is proof of his commitment to the <br />schools and his community. Not only does Dr. Price lead the School District as its Superintendent, but he also <br />serves as a community volunteer. and is an adjunct faculty member for Notre Dame College in South Euclid; and <br />WHEREAS, the honor and award of 2011 Superintendent of the Year for Of~io received by Dr. Phillip <br />Price for his outstanding contribution to the Mayfield City School District and our larger community should not go <br />unnoticed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers, employees and officials <br />wish to congratulate Dr. Phillip Price on his award of Superintendent of the Year. We echo the statement made <br />that Dr. Price's leadership has shown that he brings schools and communities together for the benefit of <br />students. He is an outstanding Superintendent and a great match for the Mayfield community. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council, relating to the <br />adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this <br />Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised <br />Code. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate original copies <br />of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Dr. Price, Superintendent of the Mayfield City School <br />District. The other original shall be placed in the perrrianent records of the Village. <br />SECTION 4.
