RESOLUTION 2010-10 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF CONGRATULATIONS TO <br />THE MAYFIELD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />"EXCELLENT WITH DISTINCTION" <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio Department of Education annually reviews the performance of a School <br />District using 26 indicators based on a Peformance Index, which is the standardized achievement test results; <br />adequate yearly progress in test participation; graduation and proficiency rates within the 10 subgroups of <br />students; and Value Added, which reflects the yeary growth of student achievement Schools are given a final <br />rating of Excellent with Distinction, Excellent, Effective, Continuous Improvement, Academic Watch or Academic <br />Emergency, and <br />WHEREAS, for the second year in a row, the Mayfield City School District has achieved the highest <br />award, the "Excellent with Distinction° rating on its Report Card; and <br />WHEREAS, this exceptional award received by the Mayfield City School District is proof of their <br />commitment to their students and curriculum; and <br />WHEREAS, the award received by the Mayfield City School District for their efforts should not go <br />unnoticed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers, employees and officials <br />wish to congratulate the Mayfield City School District for its °Excellence with Distinction" Award" and wish to <br />acknowledge the following ranks received on the Report Card: <br />Overall District Rating: <br />High School Rating: <br />Test Indicators: <br />Perfomtance Index: <br />AYP Met <br />Value Added Rating: <br />Excellent with Distinction <br />Excellent with Distinction <br />Met all test indicators at every level tested (100% <br />101.6 (exceptional is 100 and above) <br />For the third year in a row in all categories <br />For the third year in a row, above expectation <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the <br />adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this <br />Council and of its committees, resulting in such forrnal action, took place in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised <br />Code. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate original copies <br />of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Dr. Price, Superintendent of the Mayfield City School <br />District. -The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village. <br />SECTION 4.
