? <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002- 01 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING <br />EXPENDITURES RELATING TO MORE 2001 TECHNOLOGY <br />PROJECT UPGRADING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND <br />DISPATCH CENTERS COMPUTER SYSTEMS IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED $26,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, the Village finds it the best interest of its residents to upgrade the Police <br />Department and Dispatch Center's Computer Systems, and <br />WHEREAS, three (3) Mobile Data Terminals will be purchased and installed in three <br />(3) police cruisers and hardware purchased which is necessary for implementing the <br />Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) operations, and <br />WHEREAS, the Gouncil of the Village of Mayfield wishes to authorize the sum not <br />to exceed $26,000.00 for such purchases. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of the Village of Mayfield authorizes an expenditure not <br />to exceed $26,000.00 for the purchase and installation of three (3) mobile data terminals <br />in three (3) police cruisers, and the purchase of hardware necessary for the installation of <br />computer aided dispatch operations based in the police department. All hardware <br />necessary for the Computer Aided Dispatch operations will be purchased through vendors <br />currently registered with the Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Program. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; <br />and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, <br />took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements <br />including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio.
