RESOLUTION NO. 2003-10 <br />•? INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />PROVIDINCp FOR THE CREATION OF THE <br />"9/11 SAFETY HOUSE FIJND" AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE DEPOSIT OF FUNDS INTO SUCH ACCOUNT <br />WHEREAS, it the Village has received donations from the Village and Village <br />residents for the purpose of establishing a living memorial to the victims of the tragic <br />events of September 11'h, 2001 and it is the desire of Council to set aside monies for the <br />purpose of purchasing a Fire Safety House. <br />NOW9 THEItEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLEIGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That there is hereby and herein created a fund to be known as the <br />"9/11 Fire Safety House Fund". The sources of monies deposited into said fund sha11 be <br />deternuned by Council from time to time. Expenditures rnade from this fund will be for <br />the purpose of paying the costs of purchasing and opera.ting a Fire Safety House. <br />SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized and directed to establish said <br />fund, and to deposit monies therein as indicated by Council, and to make application to <br />the Bureau of Inspection of the State of Ohio for approval of the creation of the 9/11 Fire <br />" Safety House Fund pursuant to the provisions of Ohio Revised Code Section 5705.12. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such format action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised <br />Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents <br />of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the <br />affirmative vote of no# less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval of the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law <br />William Buckholtz <br />Council President
