501.999 GENERAL OFFENSES CODE 12D <br />(2) When an organization is convicted of an offense that is not specifically <br />classified, and the penalty provided includes a higher fine than the fine that <br />is provided in this subsection (c), then the penalty imposed shall be <br />pursuant to the penalty provided for the violation of the section defining the <br />offense. <br />(3) This subsection (c) does not prevent the imposition of available civil <br />sanctions against an organization convicted of an offense pursuant to <br />Section 501.11, either in addition to or in lieu of a fine imposed pursuant <br />to this subsection (c). <br />(ORC 2929.31) <br />501.999 REIMBURSEMENT FOR CONFINEMENT COSTS. <br />(a) Any person convicted of an offense other than a minor misdemeanor and who is <br />thereafter confined in a municipal jail, workhouse, prison or county jail shall reimburse this <br />Municipality for its expenses incurred by reason of such confinement including, but not limited <br />to, the expenses relating to the provision of food, clothing and shelter. The amount of <br />reimbursement shall be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction in an amount and in the <br />manner as provided by law. <br />(b) The Director of Law is hereby authorized to institute an appropriate civil action <br />in the name of the Municipality in a court of competent jurisdiction to recover from the convict <br />the reimbursement for the expenses of his confinement in a municipal jail, workhouse, prison or <br />county jail as may be determined by the court in the manner provided by law. <br />(c) All amounts recovered for reimbursement of expenses or confinement pursuant <br />to this section shall be paid into the general fund of the Municipality. <br />(Ord. 84-42.
