Agreement Between Mayfield Village, Ohio and the International Association Firefighters, Loca12619 <br />Section 25.2. Compensation for Holidays Not Worked. If not required to work on paid holidays, the <br />employee shall be entitled to receive pay at his regular rate of compensation on such holiday on which <br />he has not worked, regardless of the day of the week on which it is observed. <br />Section 25.3. Compensation for Holidays Worked. If a full-time employee works on one of the <br />above designated holidays, he shall be compensated at the applicable overtime rate for each hour <br />worked, and shall be given equal to the number of hours worked, the same time off to be first approved <br />by the department head. <br />Section 25.4. Compensation for Holiday during Vacation. If a full-time employee is on vacation <br />during one of the above-designated holidays, that day shall be considered a holiday day off and shall <br />not be counted or compensated as a vacation day. <br />Section 25.5. All full.time employees of the Union who work the majority of the shift on the holiday <br />shall be compensated for the entire shift in accordance with the holiday pay provisions set forth <br />hereinabove. <br />Section 25.6. In addition to those paid holidays authorized by Contract, each permanent full-time <br />employee shall be entitled to four (4) "optional days/tours" as paid days off. (Referred to as "personal <br />days" off in previous Village Ordinances). (Let it be noted that in converting from three (3) optional <br />days/tours, twelve hours have been deducted from the Village's offer for each year from the vacation <br />total). <br />Section 25.7. Any new permanent full-time employee hired on or after January 1st for the purposes of <br />computing "optional holidays/tours" shall be entitled to the following optional days/tours in their first <br />year of employment: <br />Optional Holidays <br />January 1St through March 31St ..............................................4 optional holidays <br />April 1St through June 30th .....................................................3 optional holidays <br />July 1St through September 30th ............................:................2 optional holidays <br />October 1St through December 31St ........................................1 optional holiday <br />Section 25.8. The scheduling of such "optional days/tours" is subject to the approval of the Fire <br />Chief. <br />Page 22 of 35 <br />
